His Rage
She sits alone in her room
Trying not to have her cries heard
She is afraid he will come back
So afraid to make Daddy mad
She tries hard to please him
Do everything to keep him from the anger
Somehow she cannot do it
Maybe it is true what he says
She is worthless
She has trained herself
Not to feel the emptiness
Not to feel the loneliness
Not to feel his rage
Not to feel
The only way to get through the years
is to Stop
Stop thinking
Stop feeling
Stop being
If only she could stop his anger
Stop his rage
