I recall the very first time
Remember? When you dragged me down the stairs?

I didn't know what was happening
I didn't understand
You were so angry
What had I done that was so wrong?

I remember being huddled in a ball
Shaking with fear
Why did it happen
Please help me understand

I don't recall the second time
I don't recall the tenth
I don't recall many after that
It all just goes blank

I do remember hating you
I had even planned your death
The pain you put me through
Is something I'll never forget

You wondered why I was so angry
How could I turn out this way
You wanted me to respect you
I was never taught what it meant.
