This is a loose introduction to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a member of the LDS Church, but I do not represent it in any official way. This page is simply a collection of LDS-related resources I've found to be useful, none of which are provided or guaranteed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or are in any way connected to the Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (excepting, of course, for the things on the official websites of the Church). Any mistakes in the connections on this page are my personal responsibility, and any mistakes in the resources reached through this page are the responsibility of those who have created them. Official statements of LDS doctrine and policy can be found at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Homepage
I am presenting these resources on an informative basis. I personally believe the LDS Church to be the restored Church of Jesus Christ, I believe that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, and that Gordon B. Hinckley is today a Prophet of God who leads and guides the Church by revelation. I encourage everyone to seriously and sincerely study the resources presented through this page. Study about them. Pray about them. Ask if they are true. I believe that those who sincerely ask God about the truthfulness of these things will find confirmation of their truth. However, there is no requirement that you do this to use these resources, and I would never wish to imply anything to the contrary. You may use these resources for any legal function you wish.
I'm happy to discuss the Church with you if you would like, but these discussions will be on an informative basis - - I will attempt to answer questions about LDS doctrine, LDS culture, LDS practices, etc. within the limits of what I know and what I have time for. I will not engage in persuasive or argumentative conversations about the validity of LDS Scripture, Teachings, Practices or History. Just so you'll know.
The Standard Works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are the King James Version of the Bible (Old Testament and New Testament), the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, the Doctrine and Covenants of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the Pearl of Great Price. For more information on the Church, you can snail-mail to:

Member Stuff
These things are more apt to be of interest to folks who are already members. I'm not going to try to put any kind of lock on them to keep non-members out, but I don't think you'd find it very interesting.
Nothing secret.
Sorry.
This is the Web version of one of my favorite LDS electronic resources ever (originally on AOL). Created by Orson Scott Card and Kathy H. Kidd, it's a home for respectful discussion and support among active believing LDS folks. It's had some difficulty getting up and running, but I know Kathy and Scott from some years on AOL and know that this will be a good place for people who are willing to support the standards there. It will not be for everyone.
The Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies
FARMS produces some very interesting academic material regarding Mormonism.
My talk on Being a Single Father
I gave this talk as one of four fathers who spoke to our ward's Relief Society on Father's Day 1997.
