I submitted that letter to several newspapers in the state — figured it was relevant because it’s a state-wide issue, and that they might be willing to run it because it’s so short.
The Skagit Valley Herald and the Spokane Spokesman Review both turned it down because I live outside their circulation area (haven’t yet adjusted to the notion that circulation area doesn’t mean as much to a newspaper with a web edition). Haven’t heard back from the Olympian yet. But the Bellingham Herald will probably run it (haven’t yet) and it was printed in today’s Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Making the Sunday P-I is a kinda big deal. We’ll see if there’s any response to the notion, particularly from school administrators who will notice the jab in it.
